Call Fredericksburg and Montclair Family Dentistry to schedule a consultation today. But before you do, consider a few important things to know about dental implants.
Your dental implants will last as long as your teeth do — with good dental hygiene, of course.
Your dental implants require the same care as your natural given teeth. You’ll want to make sure to brush and floss regularly and visit Fredericksburg and Montclair Family Dentistry for routine dental check ups.
The dental implant process happens in three stages.
Your Fredericksburg and Montclair dental will work with you to develop a detailed evaluation and treatment plan, before scheduling a date and time to place the implants. There they’ll remain covered for as few as three, or as many as six months as the implants bonds itself to your jawbone. That’s step one.
Stage two beings after some time have passed and the implants are there to stay. You’ll return to our office, during which appointment the dentist will uncover the tops of the implants to place small metal posts, or extensions.
Then, two to six weeks later, the third stage beings. You’ll be asked to return to the dental office several times in order to properly fit and fabricate your replacement teeth. The dental implant process takes an average of five to eight months to complete but may take longer if there are other, necessary gum or bone graft procedures that must take place first.
Voila! Now you can chew and chomp to your heart’s content.
